Hello and welcome!

Technion – Israel Institute of Technology is hiring and invites outstanding faculty candidates to apply for senior tenured academic positions with all our departments. The purpose of this website is to provide initial details on the faculty hiring and absorption process. Should you require any further information, please contact the Academic staff office (faculty hiring process) and/or Dr. Edith Suss Toby, Director of Technology, Office of Senior Vice President (absorption process).

Technion encompasses 18 academic departments chaired by Deans. The research fields promoted by each department, along with the relevant calls for candidates, are published on their respective websites. Please refer to those to explore the currently available faculty positions and the required qualifications.

Faculty applicants will contact the relevant academic department, through a call for candidates or directly to the Office of the Dean. Each application will be reviewed by the Department and the successful candidates will be presented to the Technion academic committees. This stage of the process is handled by the Academic Staff Office under the VP for Academic Affairs. Applicants whose candidacy is approved by the Technion academic committees will receive an official appointment offer.

As soon as the academic hiring process is complete, and in some cases in parallel with it, the applicant will be contacted by Edith, the member of the academic absorption team who will assist the newly hired faculty and their respective Deans in the preparation of the academic absorption budget. The academic absorption budget for a new faculty member at the Technion is designed to enable the purchasing of the necessary lab equipment and the employment of lab staff in the early years, until independent grants are obtained. The grant is also intended for the physical establishment of the laboratory and for the development of teaching abilities. Additional information can be found here.
