The academic departments are listed here. You can find the list of the department Deans here.
The faculty hiring process is initiated by the academic departments that publish calls for candidates, as well as general application instructions for faculty candidates. Applications can be submitted to the relevant department Dean whose office will contact the applicant with further instructions.
For assistance in identifying the relevant academic department(s), applicants are invited to contact the Academic Staff Office, as well as the heads of the Technion frontiers – Engineering, Life Science and Medicine and Sustainability.
The application process is initiated when the applicant submits their resume along with an introduction letter to the relevant Dean. Application guidelines may change from time to time; therefore, it is recommended to submit the application directly to the Dean.
- Each application is reviewed by the department who will invite the most promising candidates to visit, meet the faculty and deliver a job talk.
- Successful applicants will be recommended for recruitment, at which point the department will proceed to collect letters of referral from external and internal sources.
- The most promising candidates’ files will be passed on to the Technion academic committees.
The department Dean is your focal point at all stages of the hiring and absorption processes.
- The files of the faculty candidates recommended by their respective departments will be reviewed by the Technion academic committees. Committee members may collect further information and materials, in addition to those provided by the department. The final recruitment decision is made by the committee members, on behalf of the Senate.
- Faculty candidates approved by the Technion academic committees will receive an official appointment offer signed by the VP for Academic Affairs or the President.
The Office of the VP for Academic Affairs, and specifically the Academic Staff Office, oversee all the academic aspects of the academic hiring process. The Academic Staff Office website includes important information on the subject; the Office staff are available to answer any questions.
Candidates become Technion faculty once they sign their appointment offer. At this stage, the Dean will refer the newly appointed faculty member to Edith, Director of Technology with the Office of Senior Vice President, who will assist them with their startup grant application.
