The Center offers several technological platforms for teaching, assessment and on-campus learning.
- Our learning management system (LMS) is Moodle.
- Video materials are available via Panopto.
- We offer the Polleverywhere system to encourage and support active classroom participation, and the Gradescope platform is available for code writing assignments, and for the assessment of open assignments in a user-friendly environment.
The infrastructure offered by the Center:
- 2 cutting-edge fully equipped video studios where Technion staff (researchers, students, teaching staff) may produce high quality teaching materials, as well as additional content
- 2 studios equipped with Lightboard recording technology
- A Multimedia classroom that provides an innovative learning environment where students can study in groups or individually, and use such capabilities as transfer, presentation and recording of information in real time. The classroom is designed to facilitate student-centered teaching and enables the students to enjoy the advantage of advanced learning tools in a variety of fields. The use of the infrastructure for teaching is funded by the center. Use for other purposes is subject to a fee.
Yes. All new faculty members receive a grant for teaching development purposes, in the amount of NIS 40,000. The grant is for implementation in the Center for the Promotion of Teaching and Learning and can be used for developing courses, creating learning materials, integrating teaching technologies, and more. In addition, new faculty can employ support staff to assist in preparing the infrastructure and teaching content at the expense of the grant.
In addition, Faculty interested in developing special or hybrid courses are invited to contact the Center and apply for supplementary funding through internal or external call for proposals (for more information on these, please contact the Center).
